The staff at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite hopes to continue to improve services and purchase new technology, but in order to do this, the hospital is asking for people to vote in support of a new millage.
Several representatives from the hospital were the guest speakers at the Amite Chamber of Commerce lunch meeting last Wednesday. They spoke about the growth of Hood Memorial over the past four years, as well as the services they hope to begin offering in the near future.
Alicia Chatelain, an Amite Chamber board member and the Human Resources/ Public Relations Director for Hood Memorial Hospital, was first to speak. She began by introducing Katherine Schillings, the new licensed clinical social worker, who coordinates with families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia patients.
