RECENTLY DELIVERED TO TANGIPAHOA PARISH FIRE DISTRICT #1. TPFD#1's new 77 foot ladder truck was manufactured by Ferrara Fire Apparatus. This equipment was purchased with a 50/50 grant and low interest loan from the USDA Rural Development. It is part of a package that also includes the new fire station on Campo Lane. This is a HD 77 Combination ladder and pumper. Once the training on this truck is complete it will be part of the first alarm response for reported structure fires in town as well as any facility with life hazard occupancy such as hospitals and hotels. The equipment will initially be housed in station 2. The new station and equipment would not have been possible without this grant. Bruce Bordelon and the staff at the USDA are truly friends of the community and people we serve demonstrates by all the work and cooperation in awarding such a large grant. The administration of Tangipahoa Parish Fire District #1 were truly gifted to visualize the needs of the future and put themselves in a position to be able to adequately fulfill the needs of the public.
