TPFD#1 was alerted to a single family dwelling structure fire on Joynton Road. The caller and neighbors alerted the firefighters that they thought the occupant of the house was inside. The firefighters lost no time in entering the house through windows at the back of the home.
While some firefighters fought the fire at the front of the house, where a vehicle was also on fire, other firefighters searched the house. After extensive search no one was found to be in the house. Apparently the occupant was down the road at a neighbors home, safe and away from the harmful fire.
TPFD #1 responded with two fire engines and a tanker. They were on scene until 2:10 a.m. There were no injuries but there was heavy fire damage to the house and vehicle.
"The men did a good job searching and battling the fire. We were fortunate no one was hurt. TPFD #1 firefighters are committed to saving lives and protecting property," stated TPFD #1 Chief Bruce Cutrer.
