At approximately 6:15 this morning, Tangipahoa Parish Fire District #1 received a call for a fully engulfed house fire on Highway 51 in Fluker, just south of Kent Enterprises. Roseland volunteers arrived to assist TPFD.

The firefighters fought and contained the blaze in under 30 minutes. There were no reports of anyone being left inside the home, but a family stood safely outside while their home burned.

There have been no comments about the cause of the fire.

Rebekah with the American Red Cross just gave me a call and wanted me to let the public know that ARC has been in contact with the family and is currently assisting them. The family is being provided with immediate disaster assistance, such as food, clothing, and shelter if necessary. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to this family in their time of need. If you'd like to continue to help, you can always donate to the American Red Cross and/or volunteer with their Northshore bureau.

We just received a call here at the newspaper from a concerned woman who saw this on our website and wanted to help this family. It is touching to know that there are people who are willing to help those in need by any means possible. Therefore, once we find out how you can help, we will be posting that information here and on Facebook. Thank you, again.
