By DON ELLZEY AMITE- All the hoopla over a proposal to remove the Amite Oyster Festival from downtown may be little more than grandstanding because Mayor Buddy Bel says that when all is said and done, he has the final say as to where the festival will be held.

Frank Fred Osborn, Jr., a resident of Amite, passed away at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home. He was born December 18, 1941 in Chicago, IL and was 75 years of age.
