TPSB hires new teachers

Teacher and two counselors hired at Sept. 17 meeting.

A teacher and two elementary counselors were hired by the Tangipahoa Parish School Board during its Sept. 17 meeting. They are Micha Zinna, teacher, Midway Elementary, and Colisha Holmes, counselor at Loranger Middle School and Kristi Linder, counselor at D.C. Reeves Elementary. New support personnel hired include Javier Frazier, para professional, Amite High School; Colleen Batemen and Ashley Wells, food service workers, Independence Elementary; Gwen Finch, para professional, Chesbrough Elementary and Ashanti Dunn, food service worker, Ponchatoula High. Retirements include Teresa Bourgoyne, teacher, Spring Creek Elementary; Tonia Vaughn, teacher, Nesom; Sam Rogers, bus driver, Hammond High; Sharon Ruiz, nurse, Hammond High; Lisa Thompson, teacher, Ponchatoula High. Resignations: Vincent Falcone III, Loranger High; Drew Cosentino, teacher, Independence Middle; John Bell, para professional, Dillon Elementary; Jill Alexander, teacher, Hammond Eastside; Carla Lowe, counselor, Hammond High; Bridget Giaratano, secretary, Woodland Park. Leaves: Heather Simmons, teacher, Loranger Elementary; Veidre Self, teacher, Independence High; Loren Lee, teacher, Sumner High; Debra Brown, para-professional, Natalbany Elementary; Natalie Davis, para professional, Ponchatoula High; Ollie Vignes, teacher, Hammond High; Debra Armstrong, teacher, Ponchatoula High and Misty Creekmore, food service worker, Hammond Westside.
