Local resident turning 102 on July 19
Local resident Rena Lee Day is a true St. Helena Parish treasure. She is a life-long resident of the parish, born here on July 19, 1916 to George and Daisy Lee. Her parents were farmers. She was one of three children and the only girl. Growing up on the farm, she knew what it meant to work hard for what you had and appreciate it. She married Carl Day on September 9, 1933. They were the proud parents of two daughters. The family now consists of two daughters, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Together she and Carl owned beef cows and raised garden crops.
