A Teacher’s Love
TEACHERS TOUCH LIVES - Recently, three local educators were honored to be a part of a celebration honoring the success of one of their former students. Shakyle Robertson, a young man from our community recently completed one phase of testing to become a certified welding inspector. His beautiful wife, Katie, along with her family wanted to have a celebration including some of the people who influenced Shakyle along the way. Katie invited Shakyle’s family, as well as educators Tammie Roberts, Sherry Simpson and Ann Trappey to the beautiful home of Dr. Mark and Mary Daunis. Mary prepared a delicious home cooked meal for the guests. The educators was given beautiful gifts as a token of the family’s appreciation in Shakyle’s journey. Shakyle is married to Katie Daunis and they have a son, Kaden and a daughter, Kylie. Shakyle has only two more tests to take in order to achieve his goal. There is no doubt this hard-working and God-praising young man will complete his task! In the world we live in today, it’s such a joy to see your former student’s success and appreciation. Shakyle would also like to thank the educators at Chesbrough Elementary, Sumner High, and Kentwood High for all their hard work.
