Despite delay of snow, LSU Baseball fundraiser a tremendous success
After having to reschedule this year's annual LSU Baseball Fundraiser due to the icy weather conditions on the original date of January 18, the fundraiser, in its 20th year, had over 150 attendees. Dr. Nicholas Cefalu's LSU Baseball Fundraiser was held at the St. Helena Catholic Church Hall on January 25.
Special guests this year were LSU Head Coach Paul Mainieri, Pitcher Zack Hess, First Baseman Bryce Jordan and Outfielder/Designated Hitter Beau Jordan. The special guests arrived at 6 p.m. and signed autographs and posed for photos with excited fans until 7 p.m. A total of 106 baseballs were signed and according to Dr. Cefalu this was the most ever autographed for the event and one of the largest crowds also. After an invocation by Father Mark Beard of St. Helena Catholic Church, a buffet dinner catered by LeFleur de Lis of Ponchatoula was served.
