Three Warriors sign football scholarships
AMITE – After winning another district 9-3A Title last football season three Amite Warriors were awarded college football scholarships last Wednesday. Coach Alden Foster was proud of his players.
“These young men worked very hard to get to this point and our team, our school and the community is excited for them and very proud that they have received football scholarships.
Thomas Hart, Todd Mabry and Raymond Brown Jr. all signed letters of intent last Wednesday on National Signing Day in an award ceremony that took place at Amite High School.
Hart will play for the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears, Mabry is now a member of the Southern Jaguars and Raymond Brown Jr. will play for Shaw University. Hart was one of the best overall players in the parish this season and is also a very good basketball player.
Mabry was a very good defensive back with plenty of athletic ability. Mabry is also one of the area’s best over all athletes. Brown improved his game very much this season and is now off to Shaw University.
“We have a lot of tradition here at Amite High School and these young men have certainly done there part to make sure our tradition continues,” said Warriors Coach Alden Foster.
These three players were a part of three straight District 9-3A Titles and they also advanced to the state playoffs in each of their last three seasons as well.
